Another major milestone reached. We need to temporarily relocate the 2 network core switches, and reclaim the entire row for new kit. This weekend we relocated RTCORE02, and a host of other gear, and decomm'd some older kit. Great work boys. In 2 weeks we do CORE01, and get to work with cleanup and new buildout. Things are picking up speed at NJ2, BL, MikeLud and VC are the first to use the office furniture, the taps are ready to go in, I got to go up the ladder, and TS made me a special memento, along with the office door sign. That was real nice of him.... All we need now is our network kit, and carrier circuits ... And away we go ...

485 5th Avenue has a new door mural up. While I was out for my 2 weeks core vacation they snuck another claw guy mural on the door. Looks pretty cool.

Our months long effort to demise the legacy Homaco frames is done. The last 6 cross-connects were moved, and now we can clear out the old frames, and clean out the underfloor. Another major milestone in our march forward ...

I knew there was going to be a large group for today's OCC walk-thru at NJ1, and was surprised to see a dear colleague of mine, who've I known for many years, CH. On my first trip up to Buffalo after HSBC acquired Republic, I flew up to meet DpF and his team for the first time. Before meeting with DpF, I met CH, and when she heard I was going to report to DpF, she told me that he was a super good man. And, she was right, and we've been friends ever since. It was GREAT to see you today. And congrats on reaching your 35 year milestone earlier this year. And I promise to drop DpF this pic on Facebook.

Today was Tuesday surprise day. After seeing CH, I came back to NY and there was TC working the 2nd shift. Haven't seen him in a while, so we caught up. He supervises JjLJr on the 3rd shift, and just celebrated his 26th anniversary at the Bank. On a sad note, he also lost his mom and aunt on Flight 93 on 9/11.

I don't know who the Garden State Ultras are, but their logo is pretty cool. Spotted it in the PATH train.

NJ2 is our first data center using an overhead power busway. It's coming along nicely, so far. This should make future changes as easy as swapping out a tap-off with a new receptacle head, and reducing need to go underfloor to run new power whips ...
