I really give Scooby and the crew a lot of credit for the work they do. Watching them lift this 1,500 pound motor today shows the commitment and work ethic involved in this line of business. Great work guys, thank you so much....
I was sure glad to see this sign at my chinese restaurant today... I eat there every week, and usually try to avoid thinking about these things when in city restaurants.
Everyday when I read the news, ideas develop... hmmm - Electric neck massager strangles Florida woman - Humans have such wonderful capacity to always find a new way to die ....
Old pump coming out, and all prepped for new pump going in tomorrow.
Once the plows and buses started showing up, they've made up for lost time. Have seen 100 buses now, and our block has had the plow come by 6 times already.... enough !!!
An update to The Birthday Blizzard of 2010 photos
Yeah, saw our first plow and the bus just passed. Maybe this snowmare is over and we can all get back to normal. And Jack is back home from his OT extravaganza
Checkout the Queens Crap blog for the latest happenings around Queens. Here's a recent entry, with a submission from the Musings.
I don't know what going on. We haven't seen a plow or a bus since the storm started. Not one of either. Very atypical. There is a suggestion that the sanitation dept is conducting some sort of a slowdown, but I think it is much deeper than that.
How about that snow folks ? We got a lot by us, am sure you all got the same. Some places have 5 foot drifts. I worked from home, but many of you made it to work and worked your asses off, both getting to work, then at work. Thank you all, especially ScoobyFitz and JjLJr. JjLJr got called to work on his day off and has been there since. Way to go, it's a real help to the team. Scooby and his team, spent the better part of the day on our roof, working on a failed pump. They prepped the area for a Weds replacement, and lifting the 1,000 pound motor into place. Fun times to come. Thanks again guys, you are all the best. The Birthday Blizzard of 2010
Here comes the snow folks, batten down the hatches, and get the shovels and snowblowers ready.... I'm working from home tomorrow, so my plan is all set. Since it started on Mom's birthday, we will be calling this The Birthday Blizzard of 2010.
Happy Birthday to my momma, I Love You !!!
My future daughter-in-law knows what she's doing. She had one of my logos made into a t-shirt for me... sweet.
We had a very nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our family and friends. Here are our photos from the day. Merry Christmas 2010
Merry Christmas everyone, enjoy this time with your family and friends. And let's not forget those who are out there protecting us here and overseas
Happy Birthday to Sparky today. He's either six or seven today....
Happy Birthday to my brother FL. Another year on, and you're looking great... I love you man... Enjoy your special day.
A birthday shout out goes to Roving Reporter who has been AWOL for quite some time. Hopefully she still keeps track of the Musings, and this birthday message finds her well. If not, Auntie DnC can pass it along for us.
That was easy. Heard from my bumper buster buddy today. The teach is sending me a check for the damage. Sweet !!!
Got into a little bumper buster today on the way to work. No one got hurt, but my car got a $1,000 dent. Hit me a teacher, who doesn't want to go through insurance. This should be fun...
As we approach Christmas, I find the obscure information fascinating. Here's an interesting analysis. Santa, the scientific view...
Not sure if you are on the Naughty or Nice list ? Here's a way to tell real quick if you've been really bad
Friday marked 29 years since I proposed to my honey, and she actually said yes. It's been a wild ride ever since, and we're having a great time together. So for my honey, and the rest of the boys out there, start those engines to some Kid Rock.
Regarding the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell - I say if you have to ask what someone's orientation is, it's none of your business, if you have to tell everyone what your orientation is, then it's too much info... enough already - do your job and enjoy your life - peace out
This is wild video. Waves crashing on a beach turn to ice immediately...
It's that time of year again, when people get all stuttery over what to say to one another. The phrase is simple, Merry Christmas. Join me by getting your own Just Say Merry Christmas bracelet.
Here's a special treat for Christmas. The Leone sisters all together in a photo. Leone Sisters - December 2010
Some of my newest PEZ. JjLJr bought me the vintage Goofy and Donald Duck from the 1970's, and the others are new releases.

We had our annual holiday party last night. Everyone had a great time, and we all really appreciate these times when we can get together as a group. Although the group always seems smaller, we are all thankful for being able to continue to work together as a team. You guys are all great !!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - HTS Holiday Gathering - 2010
Another tradition is getting together with some friends each year. This year we missed GG, but Goombazza, A1, and the athletes and me had a nice lunch to celebrate Christmas. Thanks for coming in guys, it was great to see you all and get together.
1w6 is all ready for the groups to move back. They will be moving in before the end of the year. All things considered the space is OK. No privacy for managers, but hey, it's a new world.
Now, I do think that Bernie Madoff is a scumbag and is to be blamed for quite a lot of misery. However, I don't agree with his wife in blaming poor Bernie for the suicide of their son Mark. Shouldn't we blame Mark for that one ? He decided to hang himself, and the frikkin pussy didn't even have the manhood to hang himself in the park, in the cold, so some stranger or cop can find him dead. No, this half a man decided to hang himself in the warm comfort of his own home, with his 2 year old son sleeping 10 feet away in the house alone. No, baby Mark gets the blame for this one. Doesn't anyone own up to their own mistakes anymore ? Must everyone be a victim ?
Happy Birthday to my beautiful niece MS. She turns 26 today, and we send you our love on your special day.
Here's a special collage I made for Zelda's birthday. I have many more versions here, in case anyone in the family would like one customized with themselves.
At the birthday party, we had the rare occasion to have with us great-great cousins, Kaila and Samantha.
Here's a scary image. The Louisiana swamp monster ???
We had cake and coffee to celebrate my sister's birthday, and for Frankie V who turned 7. Happy Birthday Frankie V and Ann - 2010
It's a little dark, but here is the toast my AJ made to Grandma at her 100th birthday party.
My Grandmother, Anna (Zelda to me), turns 100 years old today. Just pause and think about that for a moment. 100 years old. Think about the history she has seen. She was born in 1910, married Grandpa in 1938, and is responsible so far for 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren .... I say so far, because we have some weddings coming up, and the way she's going she may be around for a while longer. She lives alone, cooks, cleans and shops with no problems. Has her health, her wits and 99.9% of her teeth. She loves to laugh, remembers everything and tells great stories. She danced all night at the party, and is an inspiration to all of us. I love her with all my heart and am so happy for her. Heck, she even got a signed letter from the President of the United States celebrating her birthday. We celebrated a century of life, with our family the other night. Here are the images from the party. Happy 100th Birthday Nonny - December 2010
From ShR, the latest from the Angry Birds Peace Treaty talks. Things were beginning to look good, however ....
Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister, AtA. I love you. We had cake for her and Frankie V at my bro's house.
The story of 2 Italians, slippers and beautiful twins - submitted by TR of course ...
I believe the Wikileaks dump of our secret embassy cables is a crime. On the
other hand, some of these documents are quite interesting and provide amazing
insight to how our 'diplomats' do their jobs. Here's just one of the cables,
that describes the workings of the Azerbaijan president and government, as
assessed by our analysts.

Happy Birthday to my favorite nephew, Frankie V, turns 7 today ... I love you boy !!!
Today is also the day that Edmond Safra died in a fire at his mansion in Geneva. That was 1999, and he just sold Republic National Bank to HSBC. That was the beginning of our downfall here in NYC, and to be honest, I'm kinda glad he's dead. I still have the words 'Karma will kill you' written on my office whiteboard. Although the HSBC sale wasn't the worst part, it was a later acquisition that HSBC made, that really fucked things up. Those that know, know what mean .. :-(
Me, DN from Chicago and RC from the UK came across the King on our PATH ride back to the city.
We lost a great comedy actor, Leslie Nielsen has passed away. And he will be missed.
Here's a song my honey really likes at the moment. It's Kid Rock - Born Free
As KpM and PO JaL look for a wedding song, I thought I'd share ours. It was 1983 and Lionel Richie was hot. So, it was perfect for us when he sang Truly. It was made for me and my beautiful bride-to-be....
From my friend, DF, up Buffalo way, an interesting 24 hour view of global air traffic.
We had a very nice Thanksgiving dinner with our family. My Mom, Dad and Grandmother joined us. Later on AJ & UD stopped over for coffee. Everyone, including Tyson stuffed themselves, and Tyson even took a nap... Next week we have the grand 100th birthday part for Zelda, doesn't she look great !!!. Happy Thanksgiving 2010
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you enjoy today as we all gather with our family or friends. I'm thankful for having the love of my wonderful wife Rosanne, and my fantastic sons, Jack, Joe and Frank. I'm blessed with such a warm, loving and caring family, and truly appreciate each day more I have with them. I'm thankful for my time at work, I've made great friendships and am proud of the work we've done as a team all these years. I'm thankful for new opportunities that have come to us, and as I begin to sunset in my career at the Bank, Jack may be just beginning his new career here. I'm thankful for being an American and hopeful that we can reclaim our country as it was meant to be. God Bless America
I find today as a day of reflection. I also view Thanksgiving as the one true American holiday that all citizens, visitors, illegal aliens, or anyone else here in America today should look upon as core to our way of life. If you are visiting, respect us for it, if you are American be reminded what today really represents. A free people looking out for themselves. Not for government to run our lives. It's also a time for traditions. Why isn't March of the Wooden Soldiers on regular channels ? Why no more Miracle on 34th Street before Christmas ? Pledge of Allegiance in schools ? In order for Americanism to prevail, these things must be brought back into our lives, regardless of background, original country or culture. We the People need to take this country back to what is was meant to be (reposted from 11/09, with permission)
Woke up this morning at around 06:00 and who was waiting at the back door ???
They are nearing completion at the library. It's looking great.
Here's a nice shot of our building
The Pond at Bryant Park is looking great. Folks are having a blast.
What's this gadget on a light pole on 5th avenue ? I hope it's for WiFi...
Now, that's a tow truck. Even Verizon isn't above the law ...
Here's a real interesting moon view picture I took the other night.
Here's a nice photo of the Empire State Building from Bryant Park. Gonna add this to my favorites.
Well, I guess it's official. Tyson must love us, he brought us this little 'present' last night, and after parading it in front of us, he ate it...
This comes to us via JjLJr, using his Droid, a very American gesture in the Carina Nebula
You have to love those crazy kooks at Rense.com - Always finding a way to laugh at a sad situation.
Me and Tyson just chilling in the yard.
Make no mistake, Tyson rules the yard these days.
Here's little Baby kitten, still a little shy about hanging out with us.
JjLJr got his first check, and it made all those long nites worthwhile. Good work son, we're proud of you !!!
I met a guy today, we did business, we did lunch, and we finished business. On the PATH ride back TW turns me on to this website - http://shitmydadsays.com/ - it's the best site I've been to in quite a while. You will bookmark this like I did, and check often, to find out what else dad has to say. My old man has been recording my mothers bon mots, and he has enough for a book after all these years. I think I may set him up to start his own website.... perhaps we can call it Julia's Jems or a tribute to my Zelda, we can call it Judy's Jems ....
From TR, it seems that another American Converts to Islam - It was announced today that Buckwheat, of Our Gang fame has converted to The Muslim faith and changed his name to Kareem of Wheat.
Well, how about this. Looks like that may have been a Chinese submarine that fired that missile off the cost of California. Just aim it at Nancy Pelosi's house, and do us all a favor.
Just added these to My Favorite Prints
Here's one of those 'Gotcha' moments. Tyson is getting further and further inside...

More work is being done at the Malba Circle marina.
From TN, I fought for you ... amazing video.
Today is Veterans Day. A day to honor our fellow Americans who took to serving our country. Some lost their lives protecting us and our way of life, while others serve today or reflect upon prior service. We honor you all. Each and every one of you. Thank You for your sacrifice.
As I was pulling into the parking lot this morning, something caught my eye. This fair sets up in the parking lot every year, and I never knew they had a camel there... A camel in Queens
John Stossel is a really good writer, and he tells a sensible story. Here's some pure honesty. My racist bake sale
Here's a plausible explanation for that mystery contrail near the California coast.
What's going on in California. There has been some sort of missile launch off the coast, that no one has admitted to so far....
This fun fact comes to us from EP. Call up Google Maps and key in Japan to China, and get directions. Checkout step 43.
A broken coffee machine water line leaked down 2 floors, and caused this mess on one of our floors...
It was a wild windy day today in the Point. It ripped our gazebo cover to shreds, and moved the whole thing, despite the 50 pound weights I had holding it in place ...
This is why those darn cats keep coming back ...
My newest PEZ. just came in today.
Happy Birthday to our flatfoot in the family, JaL. Joe turns 24 this year, and what a year it's been. He's 'on the job' a little over a year now, and he is newly engaged to our favorite nurse, KM. We love you son, you make us proud each and every day. Whether you are out protecting the citizens of this city, hanging out with your brothers, or sitting and chatting with your mother. You're a fine young man, with a kind heart and a sensible mind. Enjoy your birthday, and please be sure to have fun as you plan your wedding. And as your mother would always remind you, Live, Love, Laugh.
My AJ turns 65 today. Happy Birthday, enjoy your day, and we love you !!!

From my friend up North, DF, the 'Which side of the fence Test'
If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

We had a bunch of kids for Halloween. Here are some pics of the day.
I think when cats hang around like this in your yard, they pretty much live there now...
My honey visited the newly opened Pond at Bryant Park ice skating rink. She has gotten real good on the ice.
Here's a pic for our Easy Rider, LF. This doesn't look comfortable to me at all. LF celebrates 30 years at the Bank this week. Congratulations, my friend, this is a truly remarkable accomplishment. You should be proud of your contribution to the Bank through these years. The job is a better place because of your efforts. On a personal note, I want to thank you for all of your support over the years, and wish you the best going forward.
Here's a novel idea for the mobile office.
