Our youngest son, FjL turns 21 years old today. Frank has matured into a fine young man, and continues to excel at all that he does. He's close to graduating John Jay College, and is now in the process of joining the FDNY. We are so proud of you and the way you have conducted your life. Frank is caring, loving and wise beyond his years. He remains close to his brothers and mother and that is very important to us to have the family remain close to each other. He is the Godfather and uncle to JaJo and a fine choice was made for that selection. He has a wonderful girlfriend and is a voice of reason during stormy days. It's hard for me to imagine that our baby is 21, but he is, and he is ready for the world that awaits him. Congratulations son, we love you with all of our hearts and soul and wish nothing but the very best for you. And listen to your momma when she reminds you to Live, Love, Laugh ...

CC was invited, but had a conflict with his vendors and didn't eat with us, so we had them snap the pic as they left ... I tried to pass them the bill, but they just smiled politely... ;-) |

My old grade school PS 129. Before that new section it was just a flat roof. We used to climb up there and play ball, or if we were playing punchball or stickball in the schoolyard below, we'd have to climb up to retrieve our balls. How many of you all remember that ? |

The point is, before our politicians start allowing OUR government to close the Statue of Liberty, Stop White House tours, close all National Parks and memorials, send VA staff on furloughs, stop pay for our armed forces, or the myriad other 'cruel' things they are doing to our own citizens, why don't you FREEZE these fucking programs that cost us $2 BILLION dollars a year. This is one set of programs that ONLY covers "Contributions for International Peacekeeping Activities" - can you now IMAGINE how much other funds are still being sent or spent BEFORE they should have to resort to the actions they are taking. Personally, it's insulting to me as an American citizen. And I am ashamed of our politicians, and us citizens. |

12 years have passed. A dozen years since those awful attacks on our country. Not a day goes by that I don't think about it personally. Every day for 12 years I look south on the 7 train and watched the skyline change, and Freedom rise a little each day since. I say it every year, and feel it in my heart that we must Never Forget. Time passes, and the hurt, anger and fear subsides, but there are still feelings from those days that never leave. Just reflecting a little for a few days at this time is important to remind us about what it's all about. Our freedom. And as difficult as this always is, I encourage you to take a few minutes and follow this link to a special tribute page entitled simply - Remember The Blood of Heroes - it is painful to watch, but important to remember that day.
