Here's a close-up shot of that illegal tattoo on Noodles' back.
I have many other pics from the party that couldn't be made part of the party page I created. Here's a less than flattering shot of some local thug on the Island. Now, I ain't naming names. After all, I ain';t no rat. But, I'm pretty sure a mother could tell who the thug is.
And did you notice that my god-daughter, NL has a belly ring.
Rosanne & FjL spent a few days in Montauk. Rosanne took tons of great pics. Rosanne & Frank Montauk vacation - June 2009

We got a letter from Fannie Mae stating that the bank transferrred ownership of our mortgage to them. I don't understand it all yet, several others got the same letter. I guess I'm the proud owner of my own mortgage. I have an idea. How about you write the loan down, and we call it even for all the tax increases I'm getting. Don't make me stop paying myself.
Congratulations to Coach Mike and the Colts team from Long Island. Colts win the Super Bowl. Way to go RL and the boys.
How worried are the lefties of Sarah Palin ? read this one, from a very funny senator John Kerry. Go Sarah !! You got them blubbering....
My honey sends in this article about space blobs are pubescent galaxies. I do love this Star Trek stuff, but I also love when the scientists talk in such technical lingo, meant to make you believe what they say. Remember, the weather guy can't tell the weather NOW, forget about the things these guys are trying to explain to you as some sort of fact.
Here's another cheery article about US, Iran and a nuclear EMP attack. I hate to say I told you so...
From the Big Guy, WFP, what does muslim pussy look like ?
Pretty sad state of our country when France comes out for the Iranian people a week before the USA. Hey Barry, that's no way to project power and influence. The French stood up for someone before we did ?????

Happy Birthday to SF, who is travelling with Scooby on the mighty Colorado River.
Fast moving events taking place in Iran. This is the only way for change to happen, from the inside of the country by it's own people. All we can and should do is offer our support to the people.
Congratulations to SHR at work, for his winning of the CEO Award. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. SHR wins the CEO Award.
This one comes to us from the Big Guy, WFP, and also carries a For Mature Audiences Only warning tag. Simply titled, Is there nothing the Hulk can't do ?
This is a real nice pic of the bridge as a storm rolled in the other night.
It took me 3 hours to get home from work the other night due to some sort of signal problem that impacted the entire line. We had to evacuate the train, since we were halfway out of the station when brakes went into emergency. Here are pics of the evacuation and an empty car, which you never see these days. Evac1 , Evac2
Our lovely security guard, SP celebrated a birthday this week.
Our first crop of caterpillars are doing quite well. We should have butterflies in a few weeks.

Today's the day. Joe left in a grey shirt, and returns in a blue shirt, signifying he's packing heat.... 2 more weeks and he's a brandy new NYPD cop. Way to go son. We love you and support you.
Why is Barry denying the CIA the ability to help fund or otherwise support the opposition in Iran ? I bet the rest of the world misses Dubya.
Azzam the American is at it again, doing his bit for the jihadi cause.
KP has just 3 more days of training at Creedmor. It's been quite an experience and will prepare her for life with old, crazy people. To celebrate the achievement, we made a special pin to commemorate the conclusion of training.
So, Jimmy Carter wants us to remove Hamas from the terrorist state list. It's been very easy for Hamas to come off that list. The international community has asked Hamas to recognize Israel, renounce violence and accept previous peace deals as part of ongoing efforts for Palestinians overall to acquire their own country. Hamas has refused. So until they do, they can't. Have you ever read the official Hamas Charter ? Quite scary. I suggest you read it before proceeding to form an opinion.
The Musings continues to draw traffic from around the globe.
Wednesday is gun & shield day for PPO Leone. Hopefully photos aren't illegal.
There's a new huge, 400ft crop circle of the Phoenix rising.

So, what's with the $134 billion of smuggled US bearer bonds ?
I updated People, Places & Things. I hope you enjoy it. Check back often for the latest images.
David Letterman is still getting his hiney kicked over that bad joke about Sarah Palin's daughter. Now there's a new website called - http://firedavidletterman.com/ - I've seen the joke, and the apology, both are pretty lame. He should do a retake and just insert Malia's name instead. I think the true test of any suspected tasteless or rude comment can best be measured by running two versions. The one where it's said about a popular person, fad or act, and again with the opposite. So, when you want to display the crucifix dripping in urine, place it next to the koran the same way. When you cover the story about the crazy white man killing people at the Holocaust museum, show the story about the wild Muslim killing soldiers at the recruiting station. Balance.
ET stopped by the other day to show off his new choppers ...
Sometimes, I just don't know who the real landowner is, me or the cats that roam the yard ...
Here's a nice pic taken from the newly painted Malba Circle.
Here's my honey at the circle. Ain't she cute ?
Looks to me like North Korea is itching for a bitchin' from someone...
Good luck to BA as he goes under the knife for a back problem.
Sad news to report. HD who lived across the street with LD, passed away the other day. God Bless you HD and say hi to LD for us.
A Con Ed crew thought they'd clean the street the other day after they finished working. Except after they opened the fire hydrant, they couldn't close it, so the Fire Department had to be called to turn it off from the valve.
This may be the last known photo of the Malba geese. NYC is getting ready to collect several thousand and 'put them to sleep'. We were all getting along nicely until a rogue gang of geese decided to attack our planes.
Election report out of Iran don't look good for US or Barry ...
Speaking of Barry, funny cartoon in today's Post.

Surfing thru EPs blog, I see that JP is a chip off the old momma block. Looks like we missed a nice family BBQ.
Here's a funny from my AJ. Just hope my better half doesn't get an ideas...

Wife says: I clean the toilet...
Husband says: How does that help?
Wife says: I use your Toothbrush.....
There has been 10 bombings in mosques in just the last 2 months. How do the religious righteous justify these attacks ? How do the faithful put up with it ? It's time for a little local street justice. Secure your village, idiot.
From my honey, the biggest black hole known. No, not Lil Kim !!!
Here's a good article that covers some of the economics of using solar energy.
What gives ? Is the tide turning ? The EU votes in the right wing, Hezbollah loses in Lebanon, the New York State Senate is retaken by Republicans, and the Supreme Court delays the Chrysler sale. (by Ginsburg too !).
We have about 8 caterpillars growing already.
This seems promising too. Hawaii wouldn't even accept a certain document as an official document for some purposes... hmmm.
I Know !!!. I got a bunch of broken older links. I screwed up when I moved to my new hosting provider. I have a plan. It's gonna take time. If you need to see anything, drop me the link, and I'll fix it first.

Congratulations to my cousin, LF. Her battle with AVM may have ended with a complete success. It's nearly 100% reduced and she is so happy and can't wait to celebrate. I love you L, great news and we'll see you soon.

At five minutes and six seconds after 4 AM on the 8th of July this year, the time and date will be 04:05:06 07/08/09.
This will never happen again.
This is also quite true, from TR - Why boys need parents
From my AJ, a story about those cute little girls.
A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said,
'Let's talk. I've heard tha t flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'
The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, 'What would you
like to talk about?'
'Oh, I don't know,' said the stranger. 'How about nuclear power?' and he smiles.
OK, ' she said. 'That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow,
and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass - . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a
flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?'
The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have
To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know

Jack Joseph Leone Jr. graduated Queens College today. Today was the formal ceremony, and the one we will use for our 'records', however Jack graduated in January. Not one for formality, Jack worked today, and skipped the ceremony, giving us a break from being in the rain today. We thank you for that Jack. We also congratulate you on this milestone in your life. Your hard work and efforts have paid off. You make your Mom and me happy and proud everyday. You're a very special person to us, what being our first son and all that. I can still remember the day we brought you home, and the way you smelled. I don't remember much more than that these days, so I am happy I still have that. You are a wonderful, loving and caring young man and with some incredible potential. You're a wonderful brother to Joe and Frank, as well as a great friend to have. The special relationship you have with your Mother is a testament to her skills and have prepared you for your own family. We love you and are very proud of you today and everyday !!! I Love You and wish you the very best in life. Congratulations !!!
Our John Jay college graduate son, Joe the cop, figured this out. Any number you choose for this results in the answer being a multiple of nine. Keep an eye on the 2nd screen each time you refresh the page. Look at the multiple of 9 items. I'm glad to see all that college tuition didn't go to waste...

Happy Birthday to my AD and cousin DC. DC turns 50, and still looks 30.
The College Point Memorial Day Parade was Sunday. Great weather, and a very nice parade. Also good to see our leaders there, Mayor Bloomberg, Sen. Schumer, and Congressman Weiner.

Here's a funny from the Big Guy, WFP, from down Tampa way. Always plugging Florida.
Two businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves set up. One said to the other, 'I bet any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling.'
No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious senior walked to the window, had a peek, and in a soft voice asked 'What are you sellin' here?'
One of the men replied sarcastically, 'We're selling ass-holes.'
Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, 'You're doing well. Only two left.'
Seniors - don't mess with them.
Am I the only one weirded out over the strange relationship between that Quiznos oven and Scott ? Put it where ???
A warning for men out there everywhere, from the Elusive Sail Capri. Be careful with that woman in leather you pick up in the bar.

Have you seen the shuttle astronauts working on the Hubbell telescope ? They have super thin gloves, holding small bolts. They aren't cold, their hands aren't frost-bitten, and they are in OUTER SPACE. We here on earth have to wear thick gloves that won't keep you warm in a breeze, what gives ?
With baseball season in full bloom, what better way to celebrate than by watching Bud Abbott & Lou Costello do their Who's on first routine. Enjoy.

Read Joe Farah today on the subject of waterboarding is torture. He makes a compelling argument to outright replace waterboarding with the obviously approved by our politicians technique that is used on ordinary, everyday, American citizens with no outcry.... 'Tasering'. Over 300 American citizens have been killed by police who use a Taser to subdue someone. No complaints from Nancy or Chuck, or even Barry. So, let's taser the terrorists we capture instead. If it's good enough for our own citizens ...

Well, Maria Lopez' stoop is coming along. It's the longest stoop building I've witnessed. And it seems it may be a bit off as well.
Here's another fine example of why I carry a camera wherever I go. And I don't even walk around Manhattan. This kind of material passes by right in front of me at my location at the corner of 40th and 5th. And with the Library nearby, well the 'special' people tend to be drawn there.
This ? is the end result of $ 380,000 for photos from air force jets chasing Air Force One over NYC ??? I think we deserve our money back. Is it just me, or do you also see the glare from the window in the photo. We need to see the other photos. Stay tuned America, this may get bumpy.

I just read that the White House won't release any of those photos taken during the recent Air Force One buzzing of NYC. What gives ? Something don't sit right with this one. Who was on the plane ? Aren't you curious ?

Watch this interesting video about the world's changing demographics.
I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's May already.
Me and my honey went to dinner last night, and as we crossed FrannyLew, she slipped on a banana peel. I always thought that couldn't happen, but you can slip on these things... So, please be very careful out there. These filthy, stinking monkeys will do anything to harm us humans.
This guy outside Waldbaums stopped Jack and drew this pic of him. Not bad...
Always a good employee, DC is making sure he's smoking more than 25 feet from one of our building entrances.
Finally, Maria Lopez is getting a new stoop. Of course it's taking days for her 'amigo' to do it alone, but hey, it's the effort that counts.
Joe received his NYPD badge number and hat badge. Almost there son.
Checkout the long ponytail on this cat. Must be really tough tossing and turning in bed.
Our boy ScoobyFitz is happier now. He's installing the last of the spent bottles from that dumpy day we had a few weeks back.
Here's an interesting observation by Roving Reporter -
It was once said " A black man will be president when pigs fly " . 100 days into Obama's presidency.... swine flu.............
And here's a story I like, what's the best way to stop dissension ? Initiate a pandemic emergency...
Here's a story questioning why total secrecy was needed for the Air Force One flyover of NYC. Who was on the plane ?
We had a Laser Access, Network Imaging, OVS, TREEV reunion today with KC and ET, with me and SY. Good to see you guys.
Talk about arrogance. Here's a great post that sums up at lest 60% of this country's new attitude towards Barry's presidency. The Air Force One flyover of NYC was Ignorant, Expensive, Hypocrital ; from America's Right.
Thank God for the swine flu outbreak. We were paying way too much attention to the $3.5 trillion dollar budget getting passed. We are all doomed sheople.
I can't seem to get my head around our new government's idea that we tell our citizens to avoid 'unnecessary' or 'unessential' travel to Mexico, yet we don't limit the people coming to America from Mexico aren't limited to 'essential' or 'necessary' entries. Didn't this virus come from Mexico ?
I think if a politician changes his party while in office, he should have to relinquish the office and be voted in again. After all, most people vote for the representative of a party they associate their values and ideals with.
What the fuck is with these Palestinians now ? I don't get Abbas making these types of statements at this point in time. It certainly can't help.
"Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?" Abbas asked in a speech before student delegates of his Fatah party.
"You can call yourselves as you like, but I don't accept it, and I say so publicly," he said.
"Name yourself, it's not my business," said Abbas.
Our prayers and love go out to our retired Navy friend, JgA and his family. His 3 year old son is being looked at with some brain anomaly. God Bless you my friend.

Here's a really weird story. American Stonehenge: Monumental Instructions for the post-Apocalypse.
Here's a brain teaser we just received from JpL, down PStLucie way. This will keep you occupied for a while.
HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT ?
1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY!!) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction. I told you so !!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.
This comes to us by way of TR, and it shows what happens when there are too many chemicals being used on our produce, resulting in bananas gone bad.
From DF, up Buffalo way, can Tiger Woods get this hole in one shot ?
With the Mexican Swine flu getting worse, this sort of story begins to sound plausible.
Why is FEMA and DHS planning for mass graves and martial law in Chicago ? And here is a video with some proof of the efforts nationwide.
From TR, Great Orators of the Democratic Party. Brilliant.
NBC is presently taking a poll on "In God We Trust" to stay on our American currency. Take their poll now, before it gets pulled due to the overwhelming NO response.
Listen to Shephard Smith from Fox snap while discussing torture.
The Pope should hold off on apologizing for linking Islam to violence, as soon as Islam stops killing everyone around them. The religion of peace is up to 13,100 attacks since 9/11 across the world. I don't recall the last time the Pope strapped a bomb vest to himself or one of his 'flock' to help his religion along.

If you received an email about life in the 1500s, check this out first. The stories sound good, but ...
From TR, a funny
In South Los Angeles, a 4 plex was destroyed by a fire.
A Nigerian family of six con artists lived on the first floor, and all six died in the fire.
An Islamic group of seven welfare cheats, all illegally in the country from Kenya, lived on the
second floor, and they, too, all perished in the fire.
6 LA, Hispanic, Gang Banger, ex-cons, lived on the 3rd floor and they too, died.
A lone, white couple lived on the top floor. The couple survived the fire.
Jesse Jackson, John Burris and Al Sharpton were furious. They flew into LA, met with the fire chief, on
camera. They loudly demanded to know why the Blacks, Black Muslims and Hispanics all died in the fire
and only the white couple lived.
The fire chief said, "They were at work."

We came across DnC, PS and Roving Reporter down the park.
Sky, our blue beta, got caught in that damn plexiglass hole again. This crazy fish got himself past the netting and into the hole. Not pretty what I had to do to free him. Today, he's swimming sideways. He still eats and becomes active at times, so we hope he's healing.
My Plantar Fasciitis is acting up again. Went to see a podiatrist, he took pics of my foot and in the end concurred with my diagnosis. btw, I got me a beautiful foot, don't I ? Plantar Fasciitis resource link.
Here are a bunch of great pics of our garden, taken by Ro.
Check out this link to 29 pics of the Northern Lights from various spots along the Arctic Circle.
Have you seen the new Burger King commercial. You know, Spongebob Squarepants in Boot is Booty ? What the fuck is wrong in this country ?
From the Big Guy, WFP, the latest Hyundai Assurance program. In this economy, they'll do f*@#ing anything, for your business.
I complain a lot about the No. 7 train.
Our friends in China got it worse....Thanks to B&VM for sending this in.
A couple of Happy Birthday shout outs for today. My nephew JG and ex-RNB'er JK both enjoy birthdays today. Happy Birthday men.

EP sends this one over, a frog who swallows outdoor lights.
From JpL, down Fla. way, the first car out of Detroit since the bailouts.
Here are a few good articles for todays reading
Time for another program like Operation Wetback from 1954.
Another ship taken over by Somali pirates. Explain to me why ships on the high seas have no means of protecting themselves ? Not even one shotgun is on board ? How the hell can pirates in small boats, get onto your huge ship without you beating them down ? And if no ship has weapons, GET THEM.
The White House is saying Barry didn't bow to the King of Saudi Arabia. They say he reached out with 2 hands and shook his hand, and the King was a bit shorter than Obama. Well, you watch it for yourself and decide for yourself. Someone is lying, so, it's either your eyes or your White House.
"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
It was good to see ET the other day at work. He's recovering well from recent surgery, and is in good spirits. Teeth or no teeth, he still talks up a storm. And a special thanks for helping the OnDemand team turn off those AFS reports from going to ADL.
What's going to happen when all the smokers quit, and there is no more tax money coming in to pay for the children's health care ? Will we really let all those kids just die ? Read about the latest increases.
Here's an article from March that blames us for all the financial problems. Thanks Household ....
This just in from our Buffalo friend, DF - Barocky Road ice cream
In Honor of the 44th President of the United States , Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has issued a new flavor, "Barocky Road."
Barocky Road is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded by Nuts and Flakes. The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually denied as an ingredient. The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.
The Cost is $100.00 per scoop. The press has been raving about how great this is so expect the price to increase. The demand is heavy so expect to stand in line for quite a while to purchase one. When purchased, it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then, the ice cream is taken away and given to someone else who hasn't paid for it, nor had to stand in line.
Thus, you are left with an empty wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, and no hope of getting your share.
You know Spring is here when the flooding at the Shea parking lot returns.
We spotted this squirrel chillin' at the Malba jetty.
My wife got some neat gifts for her birthday. Checkout the fruit arrangement, and flower cake...
Some good news for the bank finally. Our rights issue seems to be selling well.
We had Family Fun Day today at the new Shea Stadium. We had a great time, despite the crazy wind we had. Stadium is pretty nice, all seats seem good. Pics will be ready on Sunday. Boston won, and hit 2 homers, including the first grand slam by a pro player at the new stadium. Word of advice, beware of the Shea snow that falls a lot during the game.
What's with Barry doing the full bow before the Saudi King. Gotta wonder.
The Wilkins Ice Shelf is about to break away from Antarctica. I ain't no scientist, but this don't sound too good.
What do you think shifty little North Korea is up to ?
Let's see what kind of press this gets. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac doling out big bonuses too....
Well, I think I'm all done moving my account to GoDaddy. If you come across any broken links please let me know. I am also interested in your sense of the performance here at GoDaddy. If you're inclined to drop me a note to tell me, I'd appreciate it.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife Rosanne. She's another year older, which means I've had the luck to spend another year with her by my side. I Love You baby, enjoy your birthday. Tomorrow is family fun day at the new Shea Stadium to see the Mets play the Red Sox.
I've started the long and tedious process of moving my site to a new host. Should be up by the end of the weekend. If you notice any broken links, please drop me an email.
A Happy Birthday shout out to my great-niece VlG. Happy Birthday !!!
It's April Fools day, got my wife twice and the boys once each. Yeah, I know, wait till next year....

And check out the other drinkingwithbob videos. Here he rants on wanting to be an illegal immigrant.
Bad joke of the day
Doctor i cant stop singing the green green grass of home
That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome to me
Is it common?
Its not unusual
I spotted this vintage GTX as I was coming through Malba.
Pastor Manning from Harlem is at it again. Here he is reminding everyone Her name is 'Ms Ann'
Only a free society would be so fucked up as to turn off security cameras because they weren't meeting quality standards. Yes, better to have no video than any video. And of all locations, right at the start of the G20 Summit. Hmmm?
Good thing I haven't gotten to that poisoned bag of pistachios my sister-in-law got me. I usually go through them quickly. Thanks Babs...
Close your eyes, and tell the truth. How do you really feel about an American President firing the CEO of an American business ? OK, we do own GM, but just the basic premise of the idea has to raise your ears a bit, no ? Read Joseph Farah's piece - Obama's coupe d'etat - and be scared and forewarned, very scared...
Read Mychal Massie - The end of the free market - and tell me you aren't worried about what our President is doing. This is a very dangerous time for this country, especially with the likes of Pelosi, Dodd, Fran and Schumer in the middle of things. It is time for there to be term limits for all of Congress. One term, then out. Give another American a chance to make things better. That's how real change occurs, constant changeover of ideas. Refining what works, adapting what doesn't. How can anything be good if a person can stay in Congress for 30 or 40 years, run the same committee, and think he can't be corrupted. Heck, it would be natural, so avoid it. Get back to Congress being a civic duty, there to vote on behalf of constituents. Hell, no pay, but free benefits.
I got a panicked email from my hosting provider. If we go dark, fear not. The Musings will have to go to GoDaddy to get going, and get back online. It won't take long but it will take time. If you see any server errors you'll know what happened. I'll get a temp page up quickly and will begin restoring soon thereafter. Let's hope for the best, but plan for the worst...
It looks like the bank finally leased the retail space on the ground floor. Signs for a jewelry store are now up.
Here's a handy link to a traffic camera watching the Whitestone Bridge approach.
Here are some pics from that Whitestone Bridge accident that knocked down a large sign.
Updated pics of the CitiField construction. Lots of work done as they prepare for opening day.
Uploaded all of the Scooby pics from the Alaskan Adventure to Flickr. Approx. 380 spectacular images to view. Enjoy.
If you are a fan of gymnastics, and the pummel horse, you will most certainly appreciate this recent performance by 2 Americans going for the gold. Thanks to JpL who is always searching for athletic excellence items to contribute to the Musings.
DF sends over a new online petition to President Obama to remind him that it is NOT un-American to enforce our immigration laws. After all, if it's a law, how can it be un-American. Let's show wacky Nancy Pelosi that we Americans stand together on this. I think those botox injections have given her brain damage.
B&DF from up Buffalo way came across just released video of Octomom giving birth. This ain't for the faint of heart...
ScoobyFitz and the Lady are back to the 'lower 48'. Visit the ScoobySays blog for the latest story and photos. There's a spectacular pic of Mt. Redoubt volcano blowing it's stack, taken from the plane. Checkout the video that Patchy put together, Alaska 2009. Our travelling leprechaun is quite popular across North America as his recent visitors map shows.
A Chinese firm is the first to lease space in the new Freedom Tower, rising where the World Trade Center Twin Towers once stood. Only problem is, it will no longer be called the Freedom Tower. I say we should rise up and oppose that little detail, no matter how much the city stands to make. What say you ? Here's an article at the NY Times, which actually wrote - "...The $3.1 billion office building, once called the Freedom Tower, is scheduled to be completed in 2013..."
How can a building currently under construction be referred to as 'once called the Freedom Tower' ? For us New Yorkers it will always be called the Freedom Tower, tough shit ....
Time for a new Musings Poll : Freedom Tower vs. 1 World Trade Center ?
Roving Reporter checks in with the latest Viagra ad. No, that's isn't me who posed. But it is Ro. :-)
Went to see my favorite endodontist today for a new root canal. Thanks Dr. G.... see ya in a few weeks.
Right off the heels of our recent layoffs, we laid off another 1,200 in the UK. Our new reorg promises to be challenging for us still.
I scored 6 tickets to see the NY Mets play the Boston Red Sox in an exhibition game at the new CitiField stadium for April 4.
ScoobyFitz & the Lady realized a dream. They got to see the Aurora Borealis. Enjoy the story and the photos. We miss ya Scooby, be safe and be careful with the falling ash coming from Mount Redoubt volcano.
From the Big Guy, WFP down Tampa way, Beer Bottle Dominos.
From my AJ, I hear that AjM from DSS is looking to pickup one of these. The Computer strikes back
Hard to believe that my GrannyD has been gone for 5 years. It's been real rough for my Mom all this time. We miss you !!! and I Love You very much !!!
From TR, Breaking News out of Washington DC
It has just been reported that the head gardener at The White House
has been dismissed after 28 years of loyal service to the many US
When interviewed the gardener protested his innocence and said "All I
know is I was walking past the Oval Office and I asked, "Has anyone
seen the spade or the Hoe". The next thing I knew I was fired..
Scooby's made it onto the Aurora Express.... Scooby Says - “It’s all good”
Here's an idea for a new screensaver I came across. Only question I have is what did they coat the glass with for this doggie to lick so enthusiastically. Kinda looks like Sparky, don't it ?
Here is President Obama's interview with Jay Leno. An actually good interview in my opinion. Even the Special Olympics joke was just that, a joke. Chill out America. The quip comes at about 21:05 into the interview.
Scooby made it to Anchorage. We've got the first images in. I will keep this slideshow updated as we get new photos from our man in the wild. Enjoy ScoobyFitz Alaska Adventure photos.
Also visit his blog Scooby Says - “It’s all good” for the latest updates from his latest adventure
Wanna make your blood boil ? Watch Lou Dobbs cover the new Amnesty bill for our illegal aliens problem. I think we should all move out of the country now ... Thanks to AT for sending this over.
Scooby and SF are on their way to Alaska. Checkout Scooby Says - “It’s all good” for the opening post of the journey. As I get updates, I'll get them posted.
From AT an amazing story about an Airbus 340 out of the Middle East.
Today marks 26 years that I've been married to the former Rosanne Albanese. For those that know me well, give Rosanne a tremendous amount of credit for putting up with me. I am a handful, to put it mildly. But you know what, the same people who know us well will tell you, that we were made for each other. There's something about our relationship that has allowed us to endure the challenges, and tribulations that life has to offer us each day. It's not been easy at times, but nothing worthwhile ever is. I Love her with all my heart, then, now and forever. I Love You Rosanne with all my heart, then, now and forever. I wouldn't trade any part of the last 26 years for anything else (really ?, really !). We've raised a loving family with 3 fine young men, prepared to face their life's challenges. All due to your constant and direct attention to them and us. Even hard times that bring things to the brink helped to form our special bonds. There are many of them, allowing us to be pulled, and twisted at times, but deeply connected always. Any time with my bride is the best time for me. Happy Anniversary Rosanne !!! Thank you for these past 26 years, now on towards another 26.... I Love You !!! xoxox
Happy Birthday to my niece SrA.
How do you feel about Congress about to receive their 'automatic' pay raises. They want you to pay more, bail out failing institutions, add pork to every bill they see, make a big deal over 1/10 of 1 percent going to AIG bonuses, yet it is OK for them to get a pay raise ? I didn't get a raise, but they raised everything else around me. Me thinks it's time for a new poll, what say you ?
My honey sends in this great story about that underwater volcano that's erupting.
Some new announcements at work today. I go from RR to BP. Good luck to GB as he moves on.
ET is recovering well. He sounds well and is in good spirits, which is always important at this stage.
Our travelling man, ScoobyFitz is off to Alaska to catch the lights and hopefully Gov. Sarah Palin. He leaves with his daughter SF, and are both ready to experience the warmer -55F degree temperatures (up from -65F). Godspeed Scooby, and be sure to check in with Ms Sarah, with those roses. Send in your updates and we'll get them posted on your blog. Scooby Says - “It’s all good”
MY AJ sends this in, and it should server as a caution for Scooby to be on the alert for.
This comes in from the LI shore, from AT
Guts vs. Balls
We've all heard about people having guts or balls. But do you really know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the definition for each is listed below...
GUTS - is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: "Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?"
BALLS - is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the balls to say: "You're next."
I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions. Medically speaking, there is no difference in the outcome since both ultimately result in a horrible death.
This also comes to us by way of my AJ, she incidentally, is not a morning person...
Checkout the Series Updates now available.
Rumor has it that these 3 dudes were supposed to be elsewhere on St Paddy's day.
A real sad story out of NYC, Natasha Richardson has died.
I spotted this sign on the approach to the Whitestone Bridge. Ro says it's been there for weeks, either way, a weird sign.
A must read for today, Michele Malkin's Spare us your fake fury, DC hypocrites , Simply brilliant.
I've made some updates to People, Places & Things
I love all the moral indignation over the AIG bonuses. Our savior received over $100k in campaign contributions from them. See if he gives it back. Plus the bonuses were in place when the gov bailed them out (which they should have let fail). They could have made the bonuses exempt from TARP funds, but they didn't. Notice how they have you looking over 'there' for $165 million, but don't ask where $1.5 trillion is going over here.... As Schumer said, we don't care about the little pork, where's the rest of the cash going.
Margaret Thatcher said it: "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."
We had a new round of RIFs, and several people we have know for a long time are no longer with us. It's a tough time for all areas in this market, and we wish them luck. For me, I question the degree of compassion we exhibit when we let people go on the phone ...
Got a date with a tin knocker tomorrow to return a lost cell phone. We know how it feels to lose a cell. And lucky it was AT&T... :-)
My honey sends in this interesting story about a Bat hung on for a ride into space. It's an amazing story, and for me the real story is the one about the astronaut who was present for another bat flight.... Now, that's more than just a 'small coincidence'.
They've started to replace Shea Stadium signs with CitiField signs on the highway. And us commuter parkers get our daily rates raised by 33% at the parking lot.
Here are some pics I took at today's St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue and my St. Patrick's Day Parade at Flickr
This is an amazing video from way back. Thrown over the wall from TR, Dom Deluise doing the famous 'egg trick' on the Johnny Carson show.
From one of my favorite nieces, MG, a funny story
An armed hooded robber bursts into the Bank of Ireland and forces the tellers to load a sack full of cash. On his way out the door with the loot one brave Irish customer grabs the hood and pulls it off revealing the robber's face.
The robber shoots the guy without hesitation! He then looks around the bank to see if anyone else has seen him.
One of the tellers is looking straight at him and the robber shoots him also. Everyone by now is very scared and looking down at the floor.
Did anyone else see my face? calls the robber. There are a few moments silence, then one elderly Irish gent, looking down, tentatively raises his hand and says:
'I think me wife may have caught a glimpse....'
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my green friends. Be careful at the parade today.
AM was certainly surprised last night at his surprise birthday party. He thought he was coming to a party for our 25th anniversary (actually will be 26 soon). We even had a surprise performer, Frank Sinatra. Enjoy the pics. Alan Miller Surprise 60th BD Party March 2009
ScoobyFitz came across this article about our Upstate data centers.
Just asking ? Who's having a surprise party for their birthday today ? Shhhhh.....
Funny how the things we ought to be worried and concerned about, don't make the mainstream news. We like sheople go about our daily lives, ignorant to the bigger picture. Read about the problems with our planet's magnetic field, Magnetosphere Mayday ?
DC contributes what may be one of the best political cartoons of our time.
Checkout the Official Obama Administration Scandals List, currently at 91... almost 2 a day get added. I'm sure as they get better at both lying and the lies, it will increase.
Here's HSBC stock over the last 5 years. Ouch !!!
Can all Americans be as ignorant as our ex-president Clinton ? Imagine someone who suggests that so long as the embryo isn't fertilized, it can be used for research ? Duh !!!
If you haven't read it yet, here is the full text of Bernie Madoff's guilty plea testimony. How no regulatory agency caught him, or 'investors' didn't suspect something is beyond me.
If we picked up these guys while fighting against us in Irag and Afghanistan, and they were 'enemy combatants' then, what are they being called now ? Our gutless president should grow some cojones.
They are preparing to lay new sod at Bryant Park. Soon the lawn will be green and filled with people.
They completed restoring the back of the NY Public Library. Look how beautiful the stone looks now.
An interesting video from our friend up north, DF. It seems that even Hitler is upset over TO going to the Bills. Not gonna be a good season for the Buffalo Bills this year...
From my AJ, one heckuva trick pool shot.
All sorts of TV shows are now available at a site called Hulu.
Roving Reporter has been on hiatus for some time now, but submits this interesting video. It was shown, of all places, at an AARP contest. Lost Generation
Another filthy, dirty ape went nuts, and kills cruel owner with coconut. Be careful out there everyone, I hear they may be roaming the streets looking for victims.
Here's an interesting article about unions. I don't believe they are good for our country in their current form, but also don't deny their necessary and positive influence to American labor as it exists today. We can have a spirited discussion about it, and at the core of my beliefs is this simple example, taken from Ellis Washington's Unionism: Freedom to be slaves.
"... How can an outside entity who owns nothing (workers, the union, Congress, community organizers) tell the owners of a private or publicly owned company, "You have to allow us to unionize your company (card check policy), pay us whatever we demand – to hell with what the free market will allow – acceded to our every capricious and anti-business demands, and if you don't we will go on strike.
Unionism is a horrible idea, especially if you want a thriving, growing, productive economy. Jesus once asked a Socratic question in a parable related to economics and the sacredness of property rights: Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? ..."
This came our way by both Roving Reporter and another retired fellow TR, the mascot for the new Obamanomics rescue plan
LF sends in this hilarious compilation of our beloved opposite sex driving.
It seems the filthy dirty apes are back to plotting to kill us all. The real good stories are the comments. See if you can spot the all knowing liberals. One guy suggests the chimp is the victim, and the real animals are the human children. What a world we made.
Here are a few interesting articles regarding our current economic state.

Can you ever image if a Bush pick suggested a national ID system ? Obama intelligence pick wants National ID. I happen to support the idea, but it's the point that if it was Bush pushing it, things would be different.
There's an update to the Things to be Mindful Of list, it's meant to be
Read about the U.S. abandonment of Israel here.
Here's a funny video from my AJ. Penguin brings his car to a mechanic.
Here's an article that's just waiting to get written. Putin calls Obama an idiot for adopting socialism.
Our friend up Buffalo way, DPF sends in this image of our fearless President Obamerkel. A picture says it all.
With the stock market at it's lowest levels in 12 years, I thought it might be a good time for another Musings poll. How do you rate President Obama's performance ?
Congratulations to my oldest son Jack. He was just nominated employee of the month at his job. We are very proud of you. You work very hard and deserved this recognition. We Love You !!!
Zelda was MIA for a few hours today. And as my Dad and Ro were tracking her down, she showed up at Jack's job of all places...
Our friend FP, (Hey Johnnie) is recuperating from recent surgery. We wish him well as he begins therapy and getting well.
ET continues to make progress as he continues his recovery as well.
Here's a story to make you comfortable about our ability to know what the fuck is going on around us. Surprise asteroid makes near-miss of Earth. The key word is surprise. Like we didn't know it was there, until it was too late....
A sequence of four images reveal the motion of asteroid 2009 DD45 (at center) over 36 minutes during its discovery on February 27th.

Stephen Green as he spoke to our shareholders and announced major losses and the closing of our consumer lending business.
"... This is an acquisition we wish we had not undertaken ...”
Our stock is down to $28.00, which is about 60% off from Nov. We also announced our earnings, and massive layoffs and exiting from the Household consumer lending business. This will close nearly 800 branches, and affect 6,000 people. Probably too little too late to help things.
The new ramp being built at Shea Stadium is coming along.
And this article about cutting back on lending.
We had a very enjoyable dinner with my parents and Grandmother, celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary. The veal at Primo Amore was very good.

Joe was ready to buy his first car yesterday. We went over to Star Toyota, saw our man Yang Lao and he walked out with a 2009 Yaris by the evening. Got himself his first loan, and his own auto insurance. Congratulations Joe !!!.
