Front window repair passed the water penetration test. I think I might have actually fixed something myself at the house.... That's just my opinion, I might eventually be wrong....
My bro, and Frankie V showed up on 5th avenue yesterday. That was a nice surprise...
Some more Hurricane Irene damage from the hood. Trees are down all around ... Even TB lost a large tree in her front yard.
Happy Birthday to my God-daughter NaL. Turns 17 and is very beautiful. We love you, enjoy your day today...
Hope everyone made it through Hurricane Irene OK. We had some minor work to do in the basement and living room. Many images and stories we hear are of difficult times for folks. Be safe and patient.
We had a great time at Nicole & John's wedding last night. The bride was beautiful, and the groom was quite handsome. Everyone had a blast. This is the first great-grandchild wedding that Zelda attends, at 100 and 8 months in age. She partied until 2am. Next up is JaL & KM's wedding in March 2012. Nicole & John Wedding - August 2011
The new data center manager at Wells Fargo stopped by to say hello. SaY is looking good and ready to make a difference.

Easy Rider, LF turns 55 tomorrow. Leaves for Disney soon to enjoy some time off with the family, then back at work doing something new. Congrats, Happy Birthday, enjoy, and get ready for some exciting new work ...
GT from Illinois is in, and we managed to snap the regional floor management team all together. Thanks to EP, CR, VC and KW, we have a professional environment, handled by very capable individuals.
JjLJr got himself some trim today ...
Irene's coming, some of us, like Scooby, are excited, and ready to head into it, while others need to plan and prepare to get hit by it .... Be careful this weekend and be prepared ...

They're getting ready to do something at the old Kleinert building on 20th avenue. It may even be coming down.... We'll know soon
I'd hate to look in my rearview and see this beast coming up on me ...
President Obama has just confirmed that the D.C. earthquake occurred on a rare and obscure fault line, apparently known as "Bush's Fault."
Obama also announced that the Secret Service and Maxine Waters continue an investigation of the Quake's suspicious ties to the Tea Party.
Conservatives however have proven that it was caused by the Founding Fathers simultaneously rolling over in their graves
Did you feel the earthquake ? We did, somethings up ...
Visited 2 good car shows this weekend. There was one at the College Point Yacht Club, and the weekly one in Whitestone. Saw a couple of the Benches boys there, PL in the Point, and RD showed off his 40's Willy... And I saw that hot chick again ... College Point & Whitestone Car Shows - Aug. 2011
Those weird eggs hatched the other day. I don't know what these things are...
Saw a few Justice League Super Heroes on the Library steps the other day. Superman didn't look too happy...
It was nice getting the original team back together. Sad the reason for it, but I am sure we will all continue to remain in touch and good friends. Good luck to SaY on his new gig, GG is settling in, ET is all set at Sears, and now Easy Rider needs to finalize a few things, and we should all be good ...
Where else but 5th avenue can you see people wearing umbrellas as clothes ?
This fast food lobster truck dropped anchor and caused major traffic on the corner.
I'm glad I saw this before I ended up grabbing her old chair when I got to the library...
I found raccoon footprints on our pool side and ladder. I hope these critters ain't skinny dipping while we sleep...
I caught the Statue of Liberty getting dressed the other day. And I thought she was a statue ....
One project ends, as many others continue. Those pesky dry coolers are balanced now.... will someone please pay the contractor now !!!
We had some cool cloud formations the other night.
Our butterflies are back laying new eggs. Here's an interesting shot of a few new eggs. Not sure what the clear one means. Also, these eggs all strung on the fennel are new. We have no idea what they are, and will be watching to see what hatches.
Had a nice dinner, then hung out at Jones Beach with my brother NL and his beautiful wife, DL. Hey LF, sorry we missed hooking up with you cuz !!!
We caught our friend, AL and Tricked Out Country at Smith's Bar in NYC. Great show. Tricked Out Country - August 2011
I'm riding the subways going on 35+ years now. I've seen and heard a lot. We have the rats, the garbage, the alluring smell of urine in the summer. Every so often, we find a refrigerator or hobo on the platform. But, here's a good one. A perfectly extruded 11 inch turd. That's right, check it out. 5th Avenue # 7 train subway station. For reference, those tiles are 12 inches.... This is almost a work of art. Think of the commitment, discipline and focus necessary to produce such a perfectly formed shite sausage.
8 years ago, the bank acquired Household International. This week it was announced it is now being sold off to Capital One. Many colleagues and friends will be leaving us, as they will move with the business to CapOne. I wish them luck. It's been a good run. Here's a quote from that Reuters article that's making it's way around. This comment obviously has no bearing on the work we do in IT to support a business. We ran a very efficient, productive service organization in support of this large business of ours. We in HTS are proud of what we have done, do currently and will continue to do under new leadership. We are professionals !!!
Reuters quote -
"... The sale further unravels HSBC's disastrous $15 billion purchase of U.S. consumer lending firm Household in 2003, which triggered billions of dollars of subprime mortgage losses. Executives now say the purchase of Household, which included the credit card business, was a mistake..."
Here's a quick test, submitted by ShR -
With the radio blaring, this dude takes a nap in front of the library... At least the tunes were good.
Pics from the yard tonight. I'm telling you, we got lots of insects too...
Now, I don't know if these are the good 'shrooms or the bad ones, but I spotted these in Malba on my way home...
The deal is announced. HSBC selling our Credit Cards business to Capital One.... Here's an interesting comment from the article
"... The deal further unravels HSBC's disastrous $15 billion purchase of U.S. consumer lending firm Household in 2003, which executives now admit was a bad deal as they have taken massive losses on the sub-prime home loans they took on..."

7/1/11 - ORIGINALLY POSTED
PR was getting his haircut, here's the before shot...
A beautiful rant by my bro FL. I'm so proud of this man ....
"... I could cut Trillions right now, in about ten minutes. No more US military bases in Europe, let them defend themselves. Same with S. Korea. Iraq, see ya - we're leaving. Afghan, see ya we're leaving - enjoy Karzai. oh, and if ya bomb us - w...e kill all of you. Dear France, Nato, you want Khadaffi out ? Fuck you, do it yourself. Wanna buy some weapons for the effort? China, counterfeiting all our goods? great, here's some nice taxes on all imports. Retirement age - 68. Medicaid- each state is on their own. Illegals ? - get the fuck out!! Im not paying your Medical and Education - how can any American disagree?? Should we educate the Planet??!! IRS - cut them, redo taxes. 1% of every transaction. Leftie commies like Steve - we take all your assets and give them to the Treasury. There, we're fixed ..."

Great effort by the team. We successfully transferred our loads to the temporary generators on 39th street. We ran our live DC loads on them for 2 hours, and it all checked out good. Next up ... dismantling the old generators on the roof, and rigging the new ones. THANK YOU ALL for your hard work and long hours this weekend.

Here's a new one for you. Someone I know, who shall remain nameless, but has the initials FjL got a new tattoo. Where did he get this new tat, and what is it you ask ? Well, check it out, it's on the inside of his lower lip .... Oh, to be young and fearless again ...
Today marks 20 years that I quit smoking. What I should have done is put the money in a jar, because after these 20 years, it adds up to $116,800 ....
We didn't get all of that crazy weather yesterday, but we did get some of the hail. These quarter sized pieces of ice started falling after the rains passed, and it was weird as they hit all different areas. News showed some reports of golf ball and larger sizes falling and breaking car windows.
Here's a few good pics of me and my honey at our spot ...
I finally got a decent pic of that cardinal that's been singing around the house...
We took Babs out for her birthday, and had a nice dinner at Primo Amore.

Watch this spot, they'll be tearing down this nice big 2 family home on a large lot, to replace it with 2-2 family homes...
Tyson has been banished, been a few weeks now, but he manages to stay on the perimeter...
I don't care what anyone thinks, Wendy Williams is a man hag ....
Well, today marks 32 years for me as I chase the Art Ross milestone for tenure.... As I look back, it has been an amazing transformation, both for RNB as it grew, expanded, and was acquired by HSBC. It's also been a transformation for me. Look at my day 1 photo, and then look at me know ... I've transformed !!!
We grew from a small, corner, no raised floor 4 PDP machines, to a world class Bank with dozens of data centers worldwide, 4 huge centers in NA, 2 smaller Trading Data Centers that I helped manage.
Our team has been through it all, many are just starting to move on, with as many years as I have in. I am proud of what we have accomplished, what we have developed into and the processes and practices we developed to sustain our high level of availability and quality operations services. I am also concerned about our future, but know that wherever management plans to steer the ship, the team left in place will adapt and adjust their sails to meet the challenges before them.
Congrats to my boy, FjL. Starts his new job at Waldbaums on Monday... we are proud of you..
Try and get a chance to see a band called The Amish Outlaws. They are a real good cover band, and really engage the audience. We saw them Weds night at the Cross County Mall in Yonkers. The Amish Outlaws - July 2011 - They have a Facebook page, so check out their upcoming schedule.
Went to Jones Beach again, and this time the sights ran the full spectrum. Sometimes I wish I didn't have my camera, cause then I wouldn't feel compelled to snap photos like this one ...
I atoned for this sin, by snapping these wonderful sights...
Here's just a sample of what you guys missed yesterday. Enjoy !!!
Had a good time at Jones Beach yesterday with the girls. My brothers skipped out on me, and missed some good scenes. Jones Beach - July 2011 - start up the slideshow, select full screen, sit back and enjoy...
For our little slice of property in Queens, we sure have a lot of nature roaming about. I caught this praying mantis in the yard the other day as he made his way around the yard.
This was first published around 1985, then another variation in 1995. Either version is quite true to this day. We the People have the real power. Read, think, understand ... VOTE 'em out !!! - The 545 People Responsible For All Of U.S. Woes - BY Charley Reese

SaY stopped by for lunch yesterday. It was good to have everyone together again. Even the Gimp was hanging out in the heat with our Easy Rider, LF. Next stop was the office, where CC and I chatted him up some more. Now I can ship out his remaining possessions ....
The Cats are onsite. Our next major project gets underway now that the 2 temporary generators have arrived. We will be replacing 2 of our 3 rooftop generators over the next 3 months.
Our last 2 early summer butterflies emerged yesterday. Both are beautiful, however, as nature has it, one was not entirely perfect. We did lose about 4 of them due to natural selection. I will say, that we haven't found any that survived on their own in the yard, so we've done our part to extend the species...
Here's a great pic of Ro - I Love You !!! xoxox
The brothers, JjLJr and FjL were chilling on the stoop the other day.

Here's part of the team supporting our NJDC, we have VC, CR and JP. Thanks guys for all you do.
We finally opened the new seating area in the landmark part of our building. Of course the doors still attract our customers, only for them to find they are locked. This should be fun to watch.
Say hello to AJ, our great-nephew. Birthday in about 2-3 months... Our beautiful niece GA is doing fine, and growing nicely...
I've been trying to catch a good pic of this cardinal. He doesn't stay put for long, and moves a lot.
We stopped by Home Depot last night to watch the fireworks display at Shea, er Citifield. Wasn't like it used to be at Shea Stadium. We got a great view of the moon rising, and I wish I had taken the better camera.
Jews for Jesus stopped by at the library to sing and dance, and basically annoy everyone. Who is he ? and what's with the painted faces ???
I report, you decide, there was a line all the way up the block to buy lobster from a street vendor truck. At $15 bucks you could probably get it cheaper at a sitdown restaurant...
We have our first butterfly, more pics tomorrow
The new landlord is advertising the newly freed space in the building. There are nice posters ion the windows.
Here's a nice shot looking west past the library.
It's always a fun time when I get new PEZ for my collection. Just got the Justice League set, and 3 more NCAA football teams.

Why did the cicada cross the walkway ? To get to a tree. This guy just dug himself out of a hole in the ground, and heads to a tree, to emerge and start his singing.
Congratulations to Derek Jeter. 3,000 hits. DJ3K
Say hello to G. He's been holding court in front of the library the last week or so.
The scaffold is up and ready for the generator replacement project. This scaffolding will be used to run power cabling to temp generators on the street, as we replace 2 of 3 from the roof.
Godspeed Atlantis. You served your country well. They keep saying that it will be 5-10 years before we have a replacement fleet of vehicles. Why is that ? Shouldn't they have been developing that replacement 10-15 years ago ?
PM posted a great sunset pic he took on July 4th near the Intrepid. I just downloaded my camera, and we caught the same sunset from our side window on that same evening.
The kids are growing and playing in the yard ...
Viva Texas - Texas executes Mexican after court stay rejected
Here's an update to a post I made back in May. Through Ro's persistence, we got through to Toyota, and they have refunded us a total of $1,923.28 out of the $1,840.74 we spent on the work. That's right, we made a few bucks on the deal. It took a lot of hard work, she didn't snap as much a she could of, and wore them down. Another example where if you stick up for yourself, and are on the side of right, you will prevail. Just be fair, respectful and persistent.
Not sure if I mentioned it already, we recently spent $1,800 on Ro's RAV4 to replace the rack and pinion assembly. It was making a knocking sound, and was leaking fluid. They said it could have been dangerous if it seized while we were driving it. Of course, we are about 1 year past the warranty, never bought the extended warranty either. Either way, we're pushing back. I've done research and no one has ever heard of this part being replaced until way past 100,000 miles, and then rarely, if ever. We have about 40,000 and only have the car 4 or 5 years. We're making great progress. So far they are willing to refund the $800+ parts cost. Now we're working on the labor part. If the part was defective, we shouldn't have to pay the cost for the labor to replace the part you are giving us money back on. I think in the end we will prevail. All thanks to a very persistent Ro !!!! - Thanks Ro !!!
I know the Casey Anthony verdict has upset many people. I think we ought to look at how the media reports on such matters. If you listen to jurors, follow testimony, and consider the premise that the prosecution is supposed to prove you committed a crime, you may have come to the same conclusion. Emotions are supposed to be removed from such deliberation, and facts must prevail. You can 'believe' she's guilty, but that's an emotion, not based upon fact, most likely based upon what some ignorant reporter told you. Our media are dumbing the population down, coupled with poor education, is making for a very ignorant populace to take hold in this country. We don't think for ourselves any longer, and critical thinking is almost eliminated totally. Everyone takes a side at the outset, which is wrong. That should concern us all, because once emotions begin to rule our thinking process, mob rule isn't very far off.... That's just my opinion, I might be wrong...
I spotted this blimp over CitiField the other night. It cost me a pretty penny to get them to display my message
Have a Happy & Safe 4th of July today. If you play with fireworks, watch your fingers and toes.
Our caterpillars are doing well, one has begun it's metamorphosis, and has formed it's chrysalis, and there's still a butterfly around feeding...
My honey is looking smoking hot these days.... Don't you think ???
We hung out with PO JaL down by the jetty the other night.
I caught Curtis Sliwa walking past the bank the other day. Stopped and said hi, and thanked him for supporting the CP Memorial Day Parades each year.

Here's a nice sunset photo from the Malba Circle.
I took a few family pics last weekend, at our nephew's. Here we are with JG, and Babs. Also pics of my beautiful great-nieces, VG and JG...
Only a guy like Rush can summarize failure so succinctly.
"... To agree with Obama and the ruling class, you have to ignore the trustees who oversee our entitlement programs. You have to ignore the Congressional Budget Office. You have to ignore major credit-rating bureaus. You have to ignore the unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy figures. If you want to agree with Obama, you have to ignore everything else you're hearing. You have to assume everybody else is lying and that only Obama is telling the truth. You have to ignore all the measurements and trends rational people look at to determine policies. You have to ignore all of that to agree with Obama..."
